Yes, they eat live food only.
Payara juv. is golden and have some spots on face and most important is the shape of the head and tail is different.

for the benefit of members that do not understand chinese, the payara on the left is the smaller species while the one on the right w the reddish tail is the giant species.

Yes, I come from Taiwan. The small type of payara is call "big teeth" and large type call "giant teeth" in Taiwan.

Yes, I feed the live loaches. That's a pretty good foods for monster fishes. But it's a little dangerous for your fishes if the loaches is not samll.

Technically speaking the chinese names direct translation are " Big BuckTeeth" and "Giant-type Big BuckTeeth"

are those Chine FW Ray has been imported to Indonesia? Never seen those things in here...then again, most of fishes talked in this forum is not sold in Indonesia generally...some of them do though..
