My First Background....experimenting

Not sure maybe it was just that one I would turnthe lights one he would go behind a rock or to a corner ..turn it off he would come out...or put a cheap not to bright light and he would come out or go on his side...even so that light u see on the 200 is just an old light and its just 1 light...so pretty sure I can shine more lightand also if I don't like it the center piece that overhangs is removable and does not affect the back.it insert on the top. 2 inche into the backgound so it won't show whenor if I take it off....its optional...thanks for your comments everyone..motivates me more...:-)

Yes I can wait either...I go to the petshop every other day to check out the oscars there's some at decent price but yesterday I went and they had some for 3.99 that's the cheapest I've seen them to bad its only the red oscars...the others are 11.99..think I've seen them at 6.99 also....they said they might lower the others later to make room for. Other cicclids that they will be getting on Tuesday...or soon...
 
im also making my first DIY 3D background.. im doing my first one in a ten gallon just incase it doesnt work the way i plan
 
Thats cool you can make a whole bunch with a sheet if u mess up......lol... i was thinking of doing a turtle one for my 55 but i want to finish this one and get it running......good lck with yours if you have any questions i can try to help ..im not an expert but i can help..also an update i will be doing some more last mods to overflows before i glue them and paint them,,, think im going to go with silicon for the background.....for the gluing and also i just realized that i purchased a switch for a sump.. iguess is for when the water overflows it will stop the pump...i thought it cost me 18.88 but it was more like 47.99..the only reason i knew is that i checked my receipt when i bought some other stuff.. my bill came out like 600 so didnt even bother to check...now im not sure if i should even use it for that price......maybe ill take it back...What u guys think should i take it back or use it?? i was going to build it into my background and if overflows fail or pump is to much it should kill the pump until the water is where it should be....

the last one is how loud it is with out the cap.. i will be getting two more caps i accidently opened it a little to much so it was just right and opened it one step further and made noise...just how the saying goes if it aint broke dont fixs it....you will see that i have no one way valves on top..personally i dont think i need them i think is more likely to get air if its not installed right or if its a faulty valve... i think its only used once at the begining if you have good overflows you never have to use them...lol...well to prime mine for the first time.. you can see in the video my cap has two holes one with a tube and one with out.. i simply cover the bottom after the tee (thats were my ball valves will go)so it will be close..then cover the hole in the cap and suck air out through thehose..doesnt take much... then opoen ball valve and it starts...hopefully it makes sense....but like i said its my first attemp...may add them later if i end up needing them...



finally was able to post....wish they could be seen on here instead of sending you to you tube...well let me know what you think..
 
Anyone??? Have something to say bout my overflows? Good or bad its cool u won't hurt ny feelings...lol
