It's known as achara or marbled catfish.

thats what I've been doing so far with him.

Here is a big achara(22") at my LFS. Tank is 7' x 2' x 2' and they said the cat is a couple years old. Like around a decade or something.

That's the one they claimed was a true P. perruno, right? You counted the dorsal rays and, of course, it is not.

Yeah this is the one they claim is a true perruno. Sorry I just worded that that second part wrong. they say its around a decade. It just seems small to be that old.
