The only way I got my kit lens to take awesome pictures was if it was paired with a flash, at that point f3.5 or 5.6 didn't affect the picture quality much, although it would have been a lot nicer to have an f stop at 2.8. In your case using an over head flash like Jcardona1 and Xander would produce some really nice results.

Yeah, I know, but for some reason the lowest it would go was 5, and if I raised the shutter speed even a little, the pics came out too dark.alyssatheurer;4373817; said:Lower number in f-stops = larger aperture for light to get through.
