Well, unless they are getting home-bred live food on a daily basis, large weekly water changes and the tank is at least 75g to properly house a school of 4-5 piranhas than it is going to spell trouble.
Since when do piranha's require live food on a daily basis? infact, when do they require it at all?
Many people do not feed live.

He's getting different fish filet's, shrimp, prawn, mussels, bloodworm cubes, and live bloodworms along with Hikari pellets, tetra XL flakes.

The tank is a 112G roomsplitter tank.

The water gets changed twice a week 20%.

Honestly, i'd much rather prefer if you could just comment on my fish and not my fishkeeping, like i initially asked for.

Thanks for your attention nonetheless.

Ok sorry buddy, i guess research is never enough.

nice fish.

your problem in time in that tank will be the clarias. most aggressive fish I ever kept when I had an 18 inch one. eat any tank mates

Yeah, i know what you mean :/

I'm actually looking for someone to take him off my hands, rather sooner than later, cause he is extremely mean during the night with the lights off, chasing just about all the fish in the tank, and i can hear HUGE banging sounds from my bedroom.

Fortunatly his mouth isn't big enough to actually eat any of the fish, but he sure stresses them out, and nips their fins if he can!

Mine is around 12" right now, but doesn't seem to slow down on the growth part, so i don't really think there's another option than to let him go.
A shame since the barachtus is a very rare catfish up here in Denmark :(

that's cool! if you could get more i would, and eventually transfer out them cichlids fish. what's the specs on your tank? widthXdepth? from what i heard they will definately not get a long with those other fish, plus you'll probably want to get more.

The whole experiment is to see if i can get an oddball mix in my tank, and i very much doubt it will last long if added more Piranhas to it :)
The cichlids would be dinner as they grew bigger i'm afraid.

the tank is 50cm deep, and 70cm tall.. i don't know how long it is cause of the bow-end, so it's too much and too boring for me to venture into calculating :p

Thanks for your comment :)
