Nice work by the way, Northeastcichlids! Sorry, should have posted that first!
I know it's way too late to do anything about it, but did you insulate under your concrete floor?
We usually use polystyrene sheets before we screed the concrete on top. Makes a massive difference to the temperature - floor never gets cold.
And what DID you use for the 5 footers stands?

I dont know if your going to paint your stands but I would. I also raise my stand legs off the ground in case there is ever any standing water on the ground. I use the white plastic chop boards which are easy to cut to size.

Cheers BMXer!

I just use plastic packers which u can get from 1mm - 6mm - (building supplies). If you don't have some already, ask around anywhere there's a joiner at work. They're bound to have some they can give you. That's where I get mine - off site!
I've got them under my timber diy stand to keep it raised from spillages, which happen every other day!

You're welcome.

Last time I used CLS was on this project.....

http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=93107

It cost £2.28 for a 2.4 metre length from my local B&Q - as cheap as most builders merchants.
It's fun gettin a bunch of those home in a Ford Ka, let me tell u! Still managed it though!

Thats exactly what I want to do....got a 5 foot tank with filter ect for 30 squids....no stand though! Just got back from Homebase and they wanted LOADSA money for the wood...try a builders yard tomorrow...Gonna nick your design...hope you dont mind :D Ford Ka's arent the best builders wagons!

Don't want to hijack this thread, but I'm gonna reply to this!

What gallonage is your 5 footer, because I've been thinking that I could probably have left out the centre subframe on that design, the rest of it is sturdy enough I think, especially with that thick plinth on the top. I
It would also give you uninterrupted storage/sump space underneath without any further modification.

You would probably need 7 x 2.4m lengths of CLS and an 8' x 4' sheet of MDF neither of which is gonna set you back much cash. Go to B&Q - seriously - you will get it at a good price! They'll even cut your MDF to size as well I think...
I spent another £20+ there on the hardware. (You want flush cabinet hinges for that style of door.)

Any other questions, post on THAT thread (http://www.monsterfishkeepers.com/forums/showthread.php?t=93107) so that I'm not hijacking this one!

And you won't believe the things that we've fit in that Ka.....
