dark jags are sub dominant

THANKS yeah the JD is deff boss, so does everyone think theyre males?

That JD may be boss now. But eventually them Jag's true tempers are going to sprout and one of the Jags and that JD will be gone. Personally, I'd leave the JD in the 55 and move the Jag's to a bigger tank.

As for water changes. I do weekly 50% changes, I use a dechlorinator and have never seen any side affects on my fish. I usually prepare my water ahead of draining the water out and let it sit and dilute.

I think they look stunning like that haha!

well great, now you know how to get yours to look like that too. just cram three aggressive fish into too small of a tank so they'll beat the crap out of each other day and night. next thing you know, you're fish will be stressed out and blacken up too. it's not recommended though

my two jags are much darker than all the others i see on here. they fight alot

the JD rules the tank with out doubt, youll notice the jags are beat up

+1 But it's "fine" because he does 20% water changes every two weeks and he's been keeping fish like that for "like 10yrs".

Sweet thanks!

pic 13 is that the stand or the coffin - j/k - although I was wondering how your gonna keep up with w/c on the 250 build when your hard pressed to do w/c on a 55. I've seen Jags black and usually it's a sign of submissive behavior - it will change as the jags out grow the JD. As for "Why do ppl assume 2 jags and a JD in 55 is irresponible not grow out" - just read other posts ppl do this all the time and far worse - 2 Dovii, 4 Festae, GT, 2 Oscars, RD, Texas, 3 JD's, Firemouth, and "Can I add more fish or am I overstocked they are all under 5" and get along just fine."
