The BIGGEST MAYAN I've ever seen here!!!

anyone guessing how big it is???

Looks about 15" - 18" Could be more as it looks a similiar size to that massive Pacu

wow, I read 10" is max.

I thought so to but clearly thats not true looking at the fish in the big tank... Here's some wild specimens...

yea that's crazy.....a lot of people don't realize ectotherms never stop growing as long as they live. Even after they stop growing lengthwise, they keep packing on weight/girth

I've seen dominant male uropthalmus in Cenote Azul that easily hit the 18" mark.
There were not many that size, and they had large territories of maybe 10ft square, barely left their caves, but when they did, they were amazing. I was never able to get footage of the dominant ones, because they were in and out too fast.
In my video of Azul, the large schools are females, and subdominant males.
