Not too sure. He's left them in there to see what happens. He breeds RT/SRT and uses amphs in some of his lines to bring back fertility, as a lot of them are infertile. He's already got numerous batches of F1 RT (BP x Carpintis parents) that he's growing out, so don't think he's that bothered about them.

So, they all stayed hidden away for almost 24 hours. The biggest and way most aggressive fish was constantly attacking all the other fish for much of that time, so I added some flower pots and as if by magic, peace has broken out.
They now have a belly full of blood worms and they're all getting along and none are hiding any more...

You should scape the hell out of that tank man. I always keep ridiculously vicious fish together, as long as you start them all off roughly the same time, fill your tank with territories, feed them well, you will cut down the deaths by a lot. Odds are you’ll have a casualty or two, but it definitely helps.
Id keep an eye on the big dog too, if he is relentless and constantly harassing other fish, I’d move him first. Save yourself the trouble of him wiping your tank out. Another fish will pick up the mantle, hopefully a little less murderous.

Well, my plan was to keep it simple and achieve maximum swimming space and frankly, minimum effort, after wasting allot of time, effort and money on my failed attempts at high tech planted... the most amount of extra fuss I was considering was a large branch or two. The pots are just to give the poor little things somewhere to hide from the big dog.
And here's the issue. I'm looking for one fish. It's not going to be a community of any description. I only got 6, so I could choose... the biggest, most aggressive one! So unfortunately, the problem fish is probably the very one I'll want to keep. That's why I got them as small as possible, to give me time to deal with things before they all get big enough to kill each other. But here I am, day ONE, worried about aggression...! Haha!
What else can I do to break the sight lines and ease aggression in the short term? Wood takes too long to sink! I guess I could try chucking a few more rocks in there...?
Also, if I start by taking out my least favourite fish and keep going (like the big brother house) until we have a winner, will that make it worse and worse as there are fewer and fewer fish to spread aggression?
I'm new to these crazy guys and I don't want to get it TOO badly wrong. I'm aiming for 1 big, bad, beautiful boy and preferably no deaths...
Most people will probably agree you should take the most dominate fish, I just never end up liking that fish’s personality long term. Turns tanks into single specimen deals too quick. I’d sooner clip the tough guy for a bunch of capable fish who can keep a decent stalemate. I usually go the opposite and lose the manic fish for a variety of more even keeled tough guys.
That's a very good point and I do want a show male...
I briefly looked into this, but couldn't find a decent way of dividing my tank... (It's almost 2' x 2'.) I'll do some more research.
I'm very grateful for any advice....
