My Midevil?

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
How can you guys say it so vehemently. I have seven fish who look like this one and saw them since they were born from a unequivocal midevil pair. Most of them have extensive black, some are already oange, some still brown.

Not criicizing. Just want to learn. I would never say this is a FH.

Well for starters it was bought a flowerhorn. I'm not one to go to a store buy an Oscar that colored differently and assume its wild caught. Second in the first pictures you can see flower spots that Flowerhorn/Trimac/Lyonsi sport. When they fade you will see lighter spots where they were unlike Midas/Red Devil/etc where the lighter spots aren't usually there. There is also red/pink on the chest which you don't see in Midas/Red Devil after they fade. Was purchased as a Flowerhorn, don't see a reason to say otherwise.

Intersting.... he does have light spots where his "Flowerline" was. and as you can see his throat is starting to get more red. what do you think with these higher quality images? (I got me a new camera!)

Just curious don't ZZ's typically have pearlings? Do they disappear with fading or is it not a requirement to be classified as a ZZ. Good call on the faded flower line I didn't even pick up on it.

ZZ can be pearly but not all are. ZZ is essentially the most basic strain of Flowerhorn, the vanilla breed if you will.

Base color is throwing me off bit as that says Midevil and not Flowerhorn as fader Flowerhorn don't typically sport that shade of orange. Sticking with Flowerhorn for now but I could see this possibly being the result of FH x Midevil but theres no way to prove it so its merely speculation.

Thank you for the response.

I still see Midevil, but I defer to the guys that know more about these fish than I
