My new 440 gallon ray tank is almost done!!!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
looking great...........not to be an old spoil sport :D but you may find it underfiltered..........obviously depends on load.

I am running two fx5 filters on a 285 growout and it is fine.......your new setup is way bigger....and i understand rays like a huge amount of filtration.....:popcorn::popcorn:

I was thinking two was too much after seeing how much water is moving.I think the way the plumbing is set up makes for a high gph.I have two eheims that i may just use one on this if i find there is not enough.I also do water changes on my ray tanks ever other day:}

i noticed that when i set up one of the fx5s temporary on the tank the way its suppose to go the GPh flow seemed much less then how it is now after being plumbed.

just keep an eye on it as you raise the stock level...would love to have rays in the house of sam but i live in the peoples republic of cslifornia :ROFL::irked::irked:

HFG in terms of plumbing, did you just fit pvc onto the fx5 outputs? and is the uv sterilizer and heating units inline or are they run seperately as well?

I used a different hose(eheim hose) from the input to pvc,so i made my own inputs so to speak but they work the same way snap off snap on.

yes the uv and the heaters are inline but i have a shut off and bypass to the u v in case something happens.

My girlfriend would kill me if I just mentioned the thought of having a tank that big in the bedroom, let alone multiple tanks.....
