i dont like bettas too much because they are lazy and just sit there..i really wanted to get some cory cats..the dwarf ones

Bettas only act that way when they're in too small of areas (like cups and bowls) without filters and heaters. I've got 14 male Bettas and 10 females (females live in different big tanks in groups). My males are ALL shameless beggars. They'll jump right up out of the water when I lift the lid if I don't hurry up and put the food in there. The males are all in 5 gal tanks with 3 Cardinals in with them. Very active and always up to the front of their tanks.

Yeh i say a paludarium, it would be nice and relaxing... IMHO zebra danios need quite alot of swimming space, and a 3gal doesnt really have adequate swimming room.

I have a similiar tank with, black gravel, black background and 1 anubia plant. I keep a single male betta in there

Oh good! My Bettas are right up there with my Oscars as far as personality and human interaction, just tinier. I'm so glad your Betta got a bigger home.

yep..i need to get him a heater though..hes about 3 years old and i just found out tht they need heaters..should i still get him one? and if i get him a female friend you think he would like it or not? hes been by himself since i got him..
