I would. Fishbase shows a temp range from 77-96 degrees for Bettas if I remember correctly. WalMart has little heaters for 2-5 g tanks for like $7. I try to keep mine around 80 degrees. A thermometer's a good idea, too. Sometimes lights can get a small tank pretty hot in a short amount of time.

yea looks like hes back to his lazy self again..im thinking its the temp of the water. do you suggest a mate for him too?

Give him time to get used to things. Males will kill a female so a 'mate' is out of the question

fiddlers dont need any land as long as theres enough oxygen being pumped into the tank ive had them before and kept them with bettas so get a few of those if you need tankmates

betta males will eventually (if a female is present) build a bubble nest, then when the female lays eggs he will kill her. its kinda like a black widow but opposite

My males make bubblenests without females, I guess they just want to be prepared in case lol

hahaha yeah mine hasnt yet... instead he puffs out his gills and picks on my T. Sev.... man when that sev grows up im not gonna stop him lol
