For my Eheim 2080 filters I have 4 Liters of generic mech media for my bottom basket, then the next 2 baskets are 8 Liters of Bio media, called Siporax.​

ya I think so, those are both heavy duty bio media, but thats good as the FX5 holds less bio media than say the 2080. So you would have some good bio filtration with that. But dont take my word on what order it goes in there. I would assume its the same as the eheim 2080 but I dont know for sure.

You also have 25 liters of foam media that does wonders for mech filtering.

i love my fx5, i just use a ceramic prefilter blocks, sack of carbon, and some fluval biomax, but i might be replacing that with ceramic biolfilter blocks for easier maintenance.

always nice to see another FX5 owner, as for mine I have biomax in the 2 trays and prefilter in my top tray. I have had these set up for a while and works great for me. Enjoy your pumps

all 3 trays filled with biomax here. working great on a 150 with a ac110 for a lil help.

9 500 gram boxes of bio max = perfect..

well maybe i will do bio max or something like it for the bottom 2 and maybe a pre filter or more bio max on top
