nah, i'm far from manila... i have no intentions of changing my sig neither. it's not that i hate the gar because of it's size. i can guarantee that i can house it even if it is fully grown. it's just way to aggressive. that's why i ordered a florida instead of this one.
I've seen even the most knowledgable gar specialists mess up IDing between Florida's and Gator's at such a small size. What is making everyone so sure?

Compare the snouts from the top. Alligators have a much wider snout than floridas. Just compare what your gars snout looks like to a true gators snout and that should tell you what yours is.

There is no way to mess up that ID unless u have little experience. but then again if u had only a small amount of experience then u wouldnt be a specialist. lol
anyways, yes it is a gator. sry peewee. we r 100% sure.

this sort of mis-ID really shouldn't happen if you've been on this (or the AP) gar forums before...there are clear-as-day differences shown in clear photographs differentiating the species. i've made my mistakes back in the day (still make plenty, but not so much with IDs), but i also didn't have the present accurate reference materials at hand.
if anyone is interested in purchasing a gar, they should review the references in the link xander posted....it would also save quite a bit of 'fluff threads/posts' on this forum--
