like john said...sold it after keeping them for weeks, had to get ready for my tig :D...plus i have video of it with the second one up til the day i sold it and they fed and swam next to each other fine...PLUS the new owner has it with 3 other wolves...one of which was purchased from rich the same time he got mine...Rich can vouch for this too...

so maybe we are doing something that you're not since we all can keep more than one together and also in a community tank...:naughty:...if you are interested i can let you know what i do to keep them together hahaha :D...i tend to be able to BREAK all the rules in fish keeping...want some tips???:popcorn:

i have mine now with small indo dats and other small fish...it leaves the small indos alone and prefers to casually pick up food as i feed so i have no clue as to what you are talking about...maybe when you house them by themselves they get that aggressive...but not mine and not any other wolf keepers that I had the pleasure of talking to lately...i'm sure they are aggressive by nature but there's always a mean to "calm" them down ... again ... want some tips? haha:)

Rules are made to be broken... :D What most people eventually will realize is that there can always be an exception to every rule. You could have 100 people with one experiance, and 1 do something that in theory by the masses and what shouldn't work. But does. :D

It's funny that everyone that has or has owned a common wolf seems to think that all hoplias act the same. From experience, I can say that lacerdae and black wolves are actually quite active for wolves. They tend to swim around just as much as ery erys (or red hi-fin wolves). HKN has had success keeping his wolves together because he has so many fish packed into that tank. It helps disperse aggression and since there are so many fish it's hard to pick out just one target. If it does find something that catches it's attention, a second later something else swims by and distracts it. It also helps that most of his fish are the same size or larger than the wolf. It's a different story when the wolf is in a tank by itself and has time to claim territory. Introducing another fish after the wolf has claimed the tank as his own will have a completely different outcome. Oh, and less populated large tanks also tend to have a much better outcome when mixing wolves.

Oh, and how can you not like aimara? It's like a steel bear trap with fins. Awsome pickup bro. :headbang2
 
The VZ Aimara are the meanest fish in the freshwater kingdom IMO. Sure looks healthy, enjoy!!
 
Seen this fish in person as well as a bunch of other people here. the thing is out of this world huge. the hand to the glass gives absoluntely no justice. This weighs probably about 20lbs of pure muscle. What size tank?
