The Tank my girls in is 8'x30"x30" about 400 us gallons. Monster tank for a monster fish. Although when my wife & I move into a bigger house I will get my girl a bigger tank.

And too those who think they know, as KRSwoop said, not all hoplias act the same. And not all aimara act the same way either, but I will say this, aimara tend to be a very active fish and swim in mid water for the majority of the time, only after a big feed do they rest on the bottom. One last thing, tank size will also play a part in their activity.
