My new pair of JDs

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I have a pair that used to come to the front cormer of their tank any time that my girlfriend or I walked into the room. We moved in May, and they have been verrrrryyyyy skittish ever since.

Yea, hopefully they settle down, as I love the look of them, and would much like to have a beautiful pair in my 55, I have a 20 long I'm setting up for my tang obsession haha.

So I put another female I picked up today in there, and all it is now is the pair in their cave and a female getting ugly looks when she goes snoopin...still all hiding, with the new female sitting behind my powerhead, not a good sign. Should I just take the caves out for them to get used to ppl walking around? I think it may stress them which I don't want... but It's ridiculous

Added my last piece of slate to make the 4th cave, and that is all of the plants in my house atm, I even bought some more the other day to give them more cover. I even only have one light going on there to reduce the brightness for them in there; I want to see my fish!!!!!!! Should I go to a different route?

If they can't feel safe in there after all this...:nilly:

just give them time.

It could take them some time to settle in, it really depends on the fish. EBJD's are kind of shy anyway. Another thing you could try is to add some dithers. Tiger Barbs, Neon Tetra's or something along those lines that schools and get 6-8 of em. Sometimes that can help settle fish down too.

They ate the danios I had in there, and I don't mind giving them more time, but if it doesn't change I might end up swapping him out, I'm sure the store will be happy to take him for a decent price since they'll be able to mark him up very nicely.

Just have to wait and see, I don't want to jump the gun b/c he already looks awesome
