You would be wise to get your arowana eating pellets before any other foods. You do this by only offering pellets and no other foods.

Yeah I actually just decided that I'm not going to offer anything else besides pellets so they know that's what they are getting how many days should I go before I cave in and give him something he will eat if he won't eat the pellets?

Crickets are equivalent to junk food for humans.. Tasty but not nutritious..
You should gutload the crickets with vegetables before feeding them to your arowana.. This will ensure the aro gets the supplement it needs..

Okay thanks for the information if I feed crickets again I will definitely do that thanks

My arowana did the same today when I did a 25% water change. But after 10 minutes he came up and he's fine now.

Yeah after I finished everything he got relaxed and was fine like 5 mins later haha do they do this all the time or just when they are young?

Offer pellets just once a day and remove them in 5-10 minute if he doesn't eat. Does the bass eat pellets?

Should only take 4-5 days, at that size I wouldn't go for more then 10 days though.

Yeah if it won't eat after 6-7 days start feeding freeze dried blood worms. Usually they are eagerly accepted by arowana, once it's eating freeze dried blood worms 3-4x daily start adding in broken/crushed pellets. After a week of FDBW and crushed pellets it'll take the pellets.

BTW I've had better luck buying large hikari cichlid gold pellets and breaking them up then feeding the small version.

Got to watch feeding that freeze dried krill, as a staple it can cause digestive problems leading to protruding anus. Best to feed just once or twice weekly.

You could try breaking the FD krill into small pieces and then adding the crushed pellets to that.
