Feeder goldfish didnt look too good, they looked on the verge of sick. The koi was 15, but when I give it back, he's giving me back 50%

whats ur point? doesn't matter if their sick, but u could find ones easily that are fine.... their not gonna be there for long..u save soo much money..u said ur self that spending 50 bucks is a lot... so why go and spend it on a fish ur not even gonna need or have for a while?

i don't get it? why waste ur money and put the poor fish through all of that?

I was figuring that I'd rather put only 1 fish through the pain and suffering of cycling a tank, instead of 10. I thought I was saving 10 for the price of 1. IDK I'm sorry. Really, if I had a car I'd go return it and just get 10 feeders, but I'm stuck at home and by the time my parents come back from work, the LFS is closed.

UPDATE:Okay, I'm sorry but the koi is still in there, but he looks fine, if not happy. He swims around and I'm feeding him twice a day. The ammonia level reads safe and the nitrites read almost 0 ppm. Basically all I've been doing is rearranging and adding rocks. The first picture is of last night's hardscape, and the second picture is what I just did like five minutes ago. Tell me what you think (don't bother posting anything about the koi because I know... I'm making it suffer, I'm sorry:()

On a side note, I ordered the stock yesterday and hopefully they arrive by this weekend.

Here's just another picture I took last night. Right now I'm just waiting for the weekend to pick up my stock that I ordered from my LFS, so all I can do is rearrange the rocks and take pictures. I didn't move much from the previous pictures, but I took this one in the dark, with a moonlight, so tell me what you think.

Cool setup! I like it!

Was the bacteria bottle refrigerated?
If not, then it's basically useless, the bacteria are all dead.

I'd have went with the feeders as well, but I don't think they'd let you return those, so you made the best choice with what you had.

I like the rocks better half-buried, but that's just my .02 :]

Good luck!

nice i have a 10g with multis in it too. just shells though no rockwork. i cycled the tank with zebra danios and just left them in there after since they all lived.

Umm, no the bacteria was not refrigerated, but he said it was live bacteria and had a very short shelf life. And anyways, it seems to be working, since I experienced no nitrite or ammonia spikes, even with such a dirty fish.

And The bottom rocks are half buried in the sand, but it's hard to see because the rocks above them sort of stick out because I didn't want it to start looking like a wall of rocks, even though now that I look back at it, that's what it's starting to look like. Maybe I'll rearrange it to look a little bit more like a mound, like make the wall more slanted and have it come out more. What do you think?

Okay, skrew the idea of making a mound, I was looking at it and I think it's fine, so w/e. But I called my LFS today, just to make sure that they had the fish or were at least going to pick it up today or tomorrow, but the guy who was supposed to get them, hadn't and told me he wasn't even going to be able to know if he could get them until monday, but since I don't drive, I can't pick it up on the weekdays, and on saturday, I'm going fishing in Mammoth for a week, so I guess nothing's going to happen until then. :(

Okay, well guess what arrived at my house today!!!!
