hello, I recently purchased a 1 inch tiger datnoid, since he or she is so tiny I put him/her in a 40 gallon all alone until some size is put on. I was just wondering why i havent seen the datnoid eat yet? very shy almost never comes out of hiding, also whats the growth rate on these guys?
My new tiger datnoid won't eat? suggestions?

my little guy about the same size as yours loves frozen blood worms. also I feed him tiny white cloud minnows and small worms chopped up. also if you have other small fish in the tank it'll help him come out more and they'll see them eating and figure it out.
Thanks for the advice, ill try with blood worms, maybe add a friendly coupletankmates to make him more social
I'm with BK on his choice of foods for his young dat and I doubt that you will have much success in trying to feed yours spirulina.
I got one the same size almost a month ago. Ive been feeding it brine shrimp and blood worms. Recently added chopped tilapia and shrimp to the menu. I swear its doubled in size since i got it. Pellets are a big no go
How about a group of tiger barbs....active enough that tbey may coax the fish to come out more.They have a rep for being fin nippers but I doubt that they would bother the dat.
