my new trio!

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Yeah, mine never seemed to enthused about brine shrimp either. They go crazy for the blood worms and almost as enthusiatic about the tetra flakes. I originally put mine in an already established tank that had a few tetras, danios and a pleco. I took the tetras out but left the danios in the first night. By the time i came home from work the next morning to return the danios and tetras to the LFS, the danios were gone. The pleco is doing fine except they take his algae wafers so i just put it inside his rock that he sometimes hides in and drop one in the tank at the end of the night when i turn the TV off. He's pretty much out all day swimming where ever he wants. The Ps notice him but rarely approach him excpet to steal his food. I have a shot of him on my phone swmming upside down and one of the Ps looking up at him

man mine really show no interest in anything except sinking pellets! and some live food...mostly feeder guppies ( i put them in once...and they were gone in 5 mins)

It's kinda funny watching them steal the algae wafer from the pleco and run around the tank like a dog with a frisbee in it's mouth.

That gourami get whacked yet?

yeah the rbp's will grab a pellet and swim around then drop it and another will play pick up and grab it before it hits the bottom, quite amusing to watch!

And NO the gourami is still kickin it! haha

BTW, sorry I never actually answered your question. When you turned the lights on they were sleeping. The are pretty lethargic at this point and will act rather odd. They will spook very easily at this point also, so be careful.

haha thanks, but they are totally cool now..dunno if you read but the trio has gone up to 6 now! and that made them a lot more confident!

Very cool. The more the better. They are a lot more confident with large numbers... Congrats

Makes a huge difference doesn't it? You've got 6 and they still haven't whacked the gourami? I'm gonna laugh if some of them start protecting it.

I use to go in this LFS a year back and they had a tank with 4 adult RBPs and the largest one would protect an oscar. I'd stop by here and there for 3 months and it was always in there with them.
