My Oscar ate a piece of apple!

lol, i gave my oscar to a buddy and his kid fed it gold fish(the cracker kind).

So far I have fed water mellon and Romain lettuce to my guys. They go nutts over the lettuce.

I had a bag of cantaloupe pieces the other day but forgot to take them home...

I agree with the acidic fruits and being careful to not feed to much.

my oscars seem to think my fingers belong on there balanced diet. when i go down to the pond to feed them, there is one in particular that comes a good 6" up out of the water and latches onto my fingers whenever im not paying attention. other than that, they love lettuce, peas, grapes, raw fish fillets, pond pellets and every now and again cause its fun to watch all the turbulance in the pond some feeders from my outside pond. on this diet they seem to be content healthy and thriving.
