Ya i know, The only tank i got from my parents was when i was 12, i got a 20g with a screen lid and a metal stand. Now i have bought all of my tanks by working, live on my own with my girlfriend and I'm only 18, now when i tell my mom about the tanks she just shakes her head:grinno:, but she likes them.

Im 15 I work for all my stuff n my parents rnt too hapy with more then 30 gallns on thre floor....

My dad loved the tanks he would help me set them up with my mom screaming the whole time. That is until the 135 in my room blew a seal and flooded the second floor. Im gonna do the set the tank up while rents are at work. Should be interesting when they get home. LOL

My mom is great she makes sure I have almost everything I need

For me as a parent, it's not about being not understanding, but more about wanting to make sure that with each pet/fish that is added to the household, that it will be well taken care of...consistently. But it is true, each tank does have a beautiful quality that does grow on you...

I am having trouble feeling your pain. This is how it went for my most recent addition.

ME: I think I am going to set up another tank.
WIFE: *nothing* I gave her the boot years ago.
KIDS: Cool dad. Can we have saltwater this time?
ME: mmm.. OK

We now have saltwater.

I don't do this often, but to be fair to the ex wife fish tanks where one of the few things we did not argue much about. Including the 150 I cut a hole in the living room wall for and the 600 plywood build that took up an entire wall in the dining room.
