My parents aren't understanding

I just get bickered at whenever I spend money on it, haha. My dad told me "you don't have much money to be throwing around since you're paying for your tuition, books, gas, car, etc." So I just replied "you spent $75,000 on restoring your Chevelle..." (which was worth it, yes...) Never heard a word about it since. He used to have fish when he was my age so he sort of understands, but he just doesn't get why I only want carnivorous fish :screwy:
 
I have a 125. I have my own place, however I have been thinking about moving back in with mom. Well she says "if you ever move back here. "NO HUGE FISH TANK! It will fall through the floor... and it's too humid" she has a thousand reasons why she hates my big tank.
 
HAHAHA this thread has some real gems! i always have to lie to my parents about the fish prices and the wattage of my tank heater..ive blamed the rising electricity bills on my sisters' 27/4 computer usage :naughty:
 
my mom likes my tanks but she doesn't like when i buy stuff for them or try to setup something diff with them my dad he goes either way he can be yelling your gonna get rid of those fish tanks or sometimes he sits there and laughs at some of my little fish.
 
Haha my parents are wierd. We go to a fish store.
Me: Sweet a motoro
Mom: Ohh lets buy it!!!!
Me: I dont have a tank big enough or one to even hold it
Mom: oh well
Me: Posts a picture through her phone on her facebook
Mom comments: I have a feeling we'll be getting this guy in the near future ;)
Me: I doubt it..
Moms sister: Couldn't it live in the 72 you got
Me: Nope still to small
Mom: I dont think thatll stop you.

She keeps saying shes gonna bring home fish and im worried she'll buy the motoro.. D:
 
My wife is amasingly understanding. As long as I dont get rid of the last couch I am ok.

I'll keep her!
 
With my parents it's hey this would be cool.my dad: ya I've wanted to do that sure. My mom: no i don't like that my dad: I agree it's not going to happen. Or they use the where are you going to put it, card
 
Mine would be like "you have an aquarium, you're wasting your money, what's wrong with your old aquarium, you still do that fish thing, that's outrageous". I'm just waiting till I move out in a few months to spare the odd looks and complaints :/

(This all really happen to me from September of 08) scared my mom a bit with 5 tanks) Dad not so much, since he likes fish...
