My parents aren't understanding

Mine goes like this:
Me: I need a grow out tnak for my natives.
Mom: you already have 6 tanks
Me: But the biggest is 55 and my sunfish and carp fry will grow up.
Mom: What did you have in mind?
Me: Get rid of a couple small ones and get a 100 gallon and 200 gallon.
Mom: the floor can't hold!
Me: Can I put it in the living room?
Mom: NO
Me: damn it.
She'll give in when my fish get huge

My convo goes like this back when i had a rainbow in a 10
Me: mom can i get a bigger tank my fish gets way to big for this tank and i want other fish too.
Mom: not a chance
Me: (fakly trying to scoop out my rainbow with a net)
Mom: what are you doing?
Me: taking my rainbow back to the fish store because it cant stay in this tank.
Mom: no you cant do that. I guess you can get a tank under 40 gal for your room.
Me: thanks mom but my rainbow gets big and i cant get the fish i want with that small of a tank. I think im gonna take the rainbow back anyway. (my mom has no idea rainbows get to like 4 1/2" lol)
Mom: ok well when the basement is done you can get the 75 you want for down there.
Me: thanks mom i guess i get to keep my rainbow =]

i just carry the tanks in, and let them complain for a couple days.
in a few days, ask them if its pretty.
i have a 240, so that's more of an eyesore then smaller tanks.

Im nearly 40, live on my own with my 15 yr old son and still get grief of my folks. Aint told em that i'm upgrading my two 55g to a 250g and a 340g. There'll be no end of "Their way too big", "You can't afford it", "Why do you need bigger tanks". Boyfriend recons i'm mad but got him into it by getting him to work on a Co2 system. Now he's quite taken on the idea of big tanks, he's even offered to build my sumps, stands etc. what none of them know yet is that i'm not getting rid of the 55g's, at least one will have to stay to house my Bolivian Rams. Hmm wonder what else I could get for the soon to be spare 55...........
