dad just told me i had to keep all my tanks in my room in that case i have no where to sleep, until i explained how sweeet the 90 gallon tank i am getting would look in the living room.

first i started with a 10 with no problem then when i saw a sale at petsmart i brought a 20 i left it in the basement so the next day i will set it up my mom goes down and sees it and said return it so the next they i sett it up and she liked it so then after a month after my dads 600 dollar fh died i toke his 40 gallon and used it my mom didnt even know LOL then i went to pet co i saw they had a 55 gallon so i brought it for 55 dollars brand new lights and everything it was a sale when i put everything in and had it for 1 week then she notices it and now when i saved up i got 400 dollars (im only 14) i brought a used 300 gallon and she didnt notices it for 1 whole month but every day she goes in and looks at it and say why dont you get a asian arowana i say you got money? LOL(if anyone in the mass area selling a jardini pm me so i can buy it)

well i caught this one a little late but i kind of have the same problem but its with the wife, so in our living room we started out with a 10, it grew to a 30, it grew to a 45, it grew to a 55, so about a month ago i decided a wanted a red tail cat, well i knew i had to get a bigger tank, so i took the old lady to the lfs and showed her the baby red tail, now realize she knows nothing about this fish except its a pretty fish with a red tail lol, so we get it, well so now i convince her we need a bigger tank, so i get on craigslist and find the best deal on a big tank, 150g, so i get it home and i take it straight to the living room, well she says babe you already have a 5,10,30,45,and a 55 in the living room, and i say well babe i will make this one pretty just for you....for you young kids out there you HAVE to be whipped sometimes. so i get it set up, i put some nice sand in it and took her to the lfs to get her some fish, well she wanted some guppies, mollies, and platys.......so im like ok food for my fish lol. but i dont tell her that. so we get home and dump them in, the tank is all pretty now. so a few days back i put the red tail in the his new home.....with his little friends hahahaha. well the first night went by with nobody missing, next night went by with nobody missing........last night was not so good. the cat ate his little friends, boy o boy o boy now i got to do something about it. so now i get the whole garage to build him a BIG old pond! see there thats how a man takes care of business and get what he wants lol she thinks im whipped well i just cracked the whip............very quitely hahahahahaha

Living at home had bought tanks without warning the parents. As long as it was in the range of 1 tank every couple months or so (less than 30gal.) nothing was really said. Well there was a dollar a gallon sale and I decided to stock up. A few days later I came home to all my tanks unplugged(everything heaters, lights, filters, etc) .
*The conversation following is edited for content*
Dad-"You can have one small tank you dont need that many or that big of one"
Me -"I cant take them back what do you want me to do with them"
Dad-" I dont care they are not going in my house, if you want all of them get your own house"
Me *storms off to plug tanks back in*

.....Moved out in under a week

Now that they are not in his house he seems to like them. Other than the occasional odd looks when talking about what new tanks I want.

lmao I always lie about how much i spend on my fish or the gf gets pissed I dont spend my hard earned money on her!- 9.99 datnoids, 5.00 frontosa

To be honest, my mum and dad are VERY busy people...and to them a fish tank is more trouble...they are VERY afraid of leaks...since we live in an apartment on the 4th floor. However, the other day i mentioned i will later replace my 55gal with a 120 or so and make the 55gal my first SNAKE setup...and this was the convo

Me: mum...you know after a year or so, im gonna graduate from University, and im gonna have more time, so i might get another tank.... OR when i get a new job, i might just get one (which means hell yeah i will)!

Mum: Yeah after you finish uni, get a job and you will realise YOU DONT HAVE TIME FOR TANKS...plus its going to be hard maintaining so many tanks! (anything parents can say to divert you)

Me: Nah nah Im going to keep my existing tanks for fish, and covert my 55gal into a snake setup...

MUM: Oh thats nice... WONDERFUL...fish and now snakes? Hey why don't you go live in the JUNGLE...that way you can own ANYTHING :)

Me: err...i wish... lol

haha, i'm most likely moving out in the next few weeks (fingers crossed) and i showed my dad a 210g on craigslist for $650 and my dad asks me if we should go get it for an early birthday present for me, haha. didn't really seem practical to get a 210g tank if i'm moving out soon.

lol i live at home with mom... down in the basement... first i told her i wanted a 135... didn't fight much but didn't like it... then had 2 clown knifes fighting and told her i needed another one... she didn't know i was planning on a 120... went threw the roof... but she didn't know my full intentions of the 120 being a grower for a much much bigger tank... ran it by her to get another one 6 months later after letting the tanks grow on her (never told her the size of the one i was going for ;) ) she said no... waited a couple weeks then i told her well it's too good a deal just have to get it... told her i would store it if must be... she said no if you get it then set it up (still didn't know how big it was) her face was pricesless when i told her it was a 600 gallon 8 ft by 4 ft by 30 inch tall ... she didn't say a word... but once it got downstairs not much she can do now ;) .. takes 4 to 5 to get it down and i'm sure probablly more to get it back up.. it's growing on her now... but she thinks the others will be broke down... she still hasn't learned yet ;)
