i just brought a 12 inch pleco that i was hoping to keep with my 7 inch piranha. i took the piranha out and then placed both of them into the 75g tank. after a few minutes, my piranha seems to chase my pleco kinda like how he does with feeders. it was also trying to bite the pleco. i took the pleco out right now but i want to put it back in the piranha tank again later. is there any way to make this work?? should i just leave the pleco in there to fend for itself?? :nilly::nilly::nilly::nilly:

probably not going to work. I have some p tanks that plecos are fine in and some that it just wont work.

Did you feed the rbp before? I'd feed em heavy n put him in.he needs a hiding spot.I have several tanks so I rotate my pleco around.its always a gamble though!

I'll also note that different plecos sometimes work. I have a "common" pleco in with my rbp and macs that is never bothered but when I put my albino in the same tank the p's decided it was a snack so I had to pull him quick.

Bruner: did you get my pm?

i think u gtta take the p out and leave it out for a day maybe rearange the tank decs or does that only work with cichlid agro?

I bought my pleco at half price because he was missing an eye from a piranha they housed him with. On the same hand I've seen it work in tanks too. I'd recommend more hiding spots. But also if the pleco continues to get attacked or cannot leave his hiding spot, I'd remove the piranha or the pleco will get over-stressed.

Come on cookie remove the piranha the pleco might be stressed Lmmfao! This is the piranha forum.thanks man I needed a good laugh!remove the piranha lol.

yea i got driftwood but its kinda hard for it to hide since it's so big. i think im gonna take the piranha out for a day and put it back with the pleco. if it still doesnt work, then im throwing it in my tropical tank.
