umm id suggest taking the piranha out, and rearranging the whole tank. After you rearranged everything, put the pleco in the tank and then add the piranhas. When they're all in the tank you can chase them around and scare them if you want also. They will have to set up new territories and hopefully leave the pleco alone. Then again i dont own piranhas but that works with my cichlids.

Your oscar was attacking your pleco?

Ok so I have read this hole thing and do you have multiple rbp or just one. Any way. As has been stated many times on this site personality is diff between fish just like it is with people you can put tank mates in with some ps and some won't tolerate any thing than other ps. Same with people toss a clown or some thing in with one goup of people thy might be ok with it but the next group you drop the clown in and clear the room. I wuld just put the pleco in your trop tank and call it good clean the tank with a scrubber mag float what ever you see fit. But please dnt keep droping this poor fish in with the ps as they will eventualy be quicker than you and kill it. And it is probly stressing the ps as well just think if you were sitting in your house and some body bigger than you just walks in what you wuld think.

I would tell him that I have a shoal of hungry piranhas and if he doesn't leave immediately they will jump out of the tank and attack him. if he doesn't believe me I would suggest him to go check out piranha 3D.

lol... forget about the pleco, i got a bigger problem. i just brought another piranha (now 2 piranhas in the tank) and the second it hit the water, mine old piranha began chasing after it. i separated them with a divider now and will feed more to the new piranha to make it as big as the slightly bigger one right now. i think feeders make piranha a lot more aggresive. I'll try post some pictures of the new piranhas i brought later

I think a good point of intrest is about 3 posts up with the person showing up in your house. Even if it was a midget you still wouldn't be a happy person having a stranger in your house. The problem with having 2 piranha in a tank though is going to be the fact that one of them will be more dominant and attack the other one instead of everyone picking fights with a little more equalness as a shoal would do.

i doubt it was dominence.. it looked more like it wanted to eat the new one cuz it was just about to bite the other right before i stopped it

that's a sign of aggression, the dominant one is trying to defend it's turf and trying to chase off the new guy. how do you think fish fights without arms and legs?? they use their mouth and fish with sharp teeth is very good at using their mouth in a fight ;)

so does that mean it will kill the new one??or just show who's in charge

Depends, do you really think the fish are smart enough to decide what and were a killing blow is or is it more of random luck? Your trying to perdict the behavior of something with a very small brain.

What I wuld do is take both of your piranha and trade them in for some smaller ones babys if you do this it will be way better than trying to add more to your curent single. And by doing this you may be Able to put the pleco in the tank aswell. But you can try the divider for a while may work out but if you take the divider out and see agrsion again the try the above mentiond.
