my plywood tank frame! (with pics)

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
they rays are fine they came in very skinny and didnt eat for days, they came in smaller than ordered and 1 with a tail end missing from near the sting, good service on the delivery part tho

nice craftsmanship, love it, looks real good. i know the acrylic can bend alot but silicone and epoxy can't a whole lot and stay sealed, wouldn't you feel safer with some top and/or corner bracing, i know i would. or is that gonna happen after panels go in?
the first plywood i'e seen with viewing all the way around, awesome!!!
what would be really cool is if you drilled the middle for the overflow then put a return in a couple or all of the corners with the sump underneath. that way all you see is magnificent mini monsters.
i think we all want to know about the planned filteration, placement, stand, lighting and stocking(besides the rays, if any. aros hint hint)
keep us posted on the progress man. how long did it take you to get here?

took me 3 days after work for 4 hours everyday=12hours total. so not long really, i havent worked out the filtration yet either, probably 2 fx5s!
the timber wont bend 1 bit with the water in there the corners are 5x5" prestressed, and the top rail is 5x3prestressed and the acrylic frame is an 3 shape made of 4x3 too, plus i can stand on it and it doesnt even move as the grains are running against each other side ways on, and im just under 14 stone! plus most of the weght will be on the bottom of the tank.
i am thinking amazon theme for the fish, how big will an arro get? in was thinking sa cichlids? and a couple of hoplos or porthole catfish?
comments please

Nice work! Looks solid. Do you work in the framing industry or construction ?
