Some progress images from last night. First was a general wipe-down with water and a lint free towel. Then I applied black vinyl to the backside (outside) of the tank to give a dark background.

Then, moved the tank into place, where it will sit.

First layer of substrate, then a layer of fertilizer, then another one and a half layers (so to speak) of substrate.

Then, the moment we have been waiting for---WATER!!! I bought some 5/16 clear vinyl hose and connected it to the RO faucet at the kitchen sink. Its a slow drizzle, so I let it run overnight.

This morning, as you'll see in the final image, is where the water level is now at after ~6hours..

I let it run today while I am at work. Feels a little scary to leave water faucets -on- while you leave for work... Hope all will be well when I return home..

I guess I posting this thread in the wrong forum..oops..

Anyhow, I have a little over 4" of back clearance, which, I think, should be enough. The filter and ballasts are located below, canopy is flush with the back. Plenty of room for the plumbing-- what am I missing guys??

Please tell me before it gets too full..

THANKS!
