To answer all of your questions: to me, they're just incredible, its the story that goes behind it, and how they'll look as they grow, their colors will change and patterns too.
at the local village there they're being raised, they can tolerate as cold as 40 degrees, up to 84 degrees max, most comfortable in mid 70s. they're eating blood worms right now after being in the bag for more than 48 hours.
they have suborbital spines, but very small, and rarely comes out,not like clowns and modestus loaches.
like zebra plecos, they were available once upon a time, but only imported on several occasions in the past decade, and none since. and now they're almost gone from the wild, since the building of hydroelectric damsn up and down the river. they migrate to spawn and cannot cross the fish ladders like other migratory fish.
Nice!
