IMG_20210302_004302.jpgSo, i keep Eryu in a 30 gallon custom tank for a year now. I think that now Eryu deserve a bigger home. I believe Eryu will happier than before.

And this is 55 gallon tank for Eryu. Im trying some biotope-ish setup, with some dead leaves etc. I'll keep update on this. Oh, btw what do you think should i keep Eryu alone or i can try 1 - 2 tankmates? Thank you for the advices ?

Maybe a cb Senegalus.

From what I know they tend to be more shy with tankmates, but I agree a sen or an armored cat is a good bet.

I try to make a south american theme, so i want fishes that came from those countries. Once again, it's only my thought and i know it'll always be a bet. My Ery way more calmer now, and also not so shy anymore, maybe cause i feed him well, with no life feeder. But i also know that Eryu still a wolf, and things can quickly change from what i expect. I just want a try. If many said it will be a big bet or if the situation will get worst, then i'll let Eryu alone and happy.

How about some larger tetras, like Black Widow or Buenos Aires? What do you think? For me it will give more more "life" to the tank than give him big mate. Thank you so much for your reply and advices ☺

Thank you for the reply. And yes, i also thought about armored cat. I'm still trying to find some "safer" species as a mate.

Really like the aquascape. Nice work. Do you have a pic of your Erythrinus?

In regards to tankmates mine was a real prick. Pretty aggressive with all tankmates I tried. TBH I had a harder time with cohabitation with my erythrinus than my curupira. Really enjoyed them but no tankmates were really successful.

Thank you so much. I agree that every fish have their own personalities. As i said before, if anything goes wrong, then i let Eryu alone. It's just my first try of cohab tank. And i want to learn from mfk members experiences about "safer" tankmate for Eryu.

I have latest video of my Ery. I'm sorry if the quality is bad.

If you did tetras I would add a lot of vegetation. Buenos Aires are good because they are good sized but don’t cost a lot wise case scenario. Exodons are good but really expensive and may harass the wolf.
Larger, mild mannered cichlids like severums or acaras may stand a chance and not attack the wolf.
Banded leporinus would probably be fine. I kept mine with a piranha and he outlived it. They take any abuse and give it right back. Not really healthy for either party but possible.
Really with the predator characins it’s all a crap shoot.
