my RTCxTSN 180 gallon

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
i had one of these and i disagree that it should be 24" in 6 months like someone said in the 2nd post i think it was thats rubbish. yes they grow very fast but its annoying when someone says such rubbish they have obviously never owned 1. ultimately though yes the tank is too small you will need an upgrade and soon. good luck with it

My 2 cents worth:)

Your water looks like pea soup, so IMO a min of 50% per week WC.
It looks a nice fish, much like my Bob, spotted more than blotted:)

I also think that 24 inch in 6 months is OTT a bit, feed mine 2-3 times a day on muscles, cockles, prawn and high protein pellets in a water temp of 75, and when i got him about 6 weeks ago he was about 2 inch and now he is 7 inch and as happy as larry in his 150g (UK)...dont ask i dont know larry:ROFL:

You should defo get a bigger tank as soon as you can , mine will be going into a 500g (UK) then a 1300g (UK) tank in the next 2 years.

Another thing about folk posting on here, please try to be a bit nicer to folk instead of diving in with abuse before asking a Question. It just p***ss folk off. Be better to either ask then advice on what to do, or is it just me getting fed up of these web forums:(

All the best with the cat mate, but if you ever think you will not cope get rid asap.....then regrett it.

Oh yes, if he dont take pellet easy i stuff my cockles etc with the pellets.

thanks ya im gonna be changing the water more often, and its really not green in person its pretty clear thats just how it comes out on my cell phone camera. he will be going to a bigger tank soon, just have to get it built, but its not a "maybe" its going to be happening in the next few months and i will post pix :grinno:

ya fursure will post them, ive been going through all the build threads for the past few months just doing research. the only thing is it might turn out to be a pond because of the cost of a big window, or i think i could put a smaller window like 2' by 6' on the front which would be 10' by 4'

Just an idea for before you finish you build. You could buy a cheap large rubbermaid tub of about 300 or 500 gallons and put the cat and pacu in there so they have room to swim around. I am also building a large tank but I have a 700 gallon stock tank I am using to hold my fish right now so that they are not cramped in my 300.
