I don't know if the sypon would hold if it had to uphill 1st. That's a good question. Hey-another thing you might think of doing is putting the tank on cinder blocks. I hope Bderick67 doesn't mind me posting this picture, it's one he posted of his cinder block stand that I thought was an excellent idea. Because there's room underneath it for storage. You could put it 1, 2 or 3 blocks high. I had a 130 g on blocks for almost a year. It's super solid. Put a peice of plywood on top of the blocks and set the tank on that. Works great and it would solve your entire syphon problem.

Grrrr. I already filled it and I'm adding some fish already.
I'm acclimating my bumblebee catfish. Yes I know about cycling, but I've never had a problem without cycling the tank before adding fish.
:(

Sick. That tank is gonna be sweet.

As far as it being on the floor, I think it's fine if you want it there except the siphoning part that is gonna be harder but not impossible.

Keep us updated and thanks for sharing.

OK thanks :)
will do

i think he wants it on the ground

I wanted it on the ground because if I had a stand there, It would be right in front of a window which I wouldn't want. But the cinder block idea is good because I could make the hight less than a stand, but not at the window.

I would not put a spotted pictus in an uncycled tank with high ammonia or nitrite. They will die in bad water conditions.

The fish from the 26g are cycling it for the pictus cats.
