Carpet from the unknown seeds are growing back nicely after two very heavy trimmings. Not sure if the iron I've been dosing is giving it the dark coloration. It could be the younger plants growing after I trimmed the others down. New growth from the trimmed plants are regrowing new branches like stem plants shown in center of second pic.

Shrimps are multiplying and seem to love grazing through the carpet.

Individual plants still growing nicely.

I think I've found what these seeds are but not 100% certain. Could this be it? They're staurogyne sp. 'porto velho'. They're very much like terrestrial ivy, so they make excellent foreground covers. Cuttings can be propogated.

Your tank is SERIOUSLY beautiful, and I can't believe that you grew that from seeds! Wow!

Hands down, you have done a spectacular job there. I LOVE it! Please keep us updated with pics!

Stunning! <3

No definite ID but I really don't feel cheated at all. A bit of false advertising but for the price and ease of growing and serves as a nice foreground, I'm not complaining. Fast growing once established. Here's a shot while I was trimming it way down:

A little update:
image.jpeg
Decided to pull out a section of the mysterious foreground plant and go with HC. Old plant was heavily rooted but came up easily making a bit of a mess. Hydrogen peroxide does great in combatting algae but did a number on the bacopas...my fault in removing them out of water cuz I wanted to replant them. They reached the surface and I wanted to bunch them together for more density. I sprayed them with HP out of water and let it sit which killed off much of the plant...too delicate. Ludwigia, moss & anubias had no ill effect. Roots from frogbits also suffered but bounced right back...they multiply like crazy, will have to remove most of them.

Here's an update on the individual foreground plants...still doing well, but staying thin:

Update: Everything seems to be doing really well.

Dwarf lily is really taking off and the HC are growing but the trumpet snails are uprooting them as they burrow into the very light weighted fluval stratum substrate (I would not recommend...they're just too light).
