My Second Attempt At A Planted Tank

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
Apparently, many sellers of these seeds also sell other products (household goods, clothing & jewelry)...online businesses. Many come from Hong Kong. If you can check in with the retailers where you're from about these seeds, that would be great.

This is the link to the seller I purchased the seeds from: http://www.ebay.com/itm/201673299399

Cool! Going to do some digging and see if i can find out more about this seller and if they have a store...

Also, regarding the large and small, i think they are talking about leaf size a d not bottle size, seems there is a larger leaf version, and a smaller leaf version for sale...

Yes...you are correct about large & small. There is an obvious difference in the size of the seeds.

A little update. All plants are doing well and threw in some livestock. I was in San Diego and found a guy that bred cardinal & neon tetras, celestial danios and shrimps.20161227_145737.jpg

Asked for cardinals but seller gave me neon tetras by mistake...40 of them. I'm 1 1/2 hour drive away from him so he told me he owes me cardinal tetras at no charge next time I'm in his area for the mistake. It was a quick exchange so I didn't notice till I got home. Very nice guy btw.

Celestial danios...10 of them. Love how they look like tiny trout.

Otocinclus...3 in there. Had some fuzzy fungus growing on part of a driftwood and they certainly did their job in eliminating them.

Ten Crystal Red Shrimps & 10 Cherry Red Shrimps...definitely helping in cleaning up debris on wood & plants.

Carpet is growing out very thick. I do not know much about glossostigma but upon closer observation, the secondary leaves coming out are growing rather long, slender and several are showing dark coloration (redish brown). This leads me to question whether they are glossostigmas or something else. If anyone knows, please chime in. Still looks nice in my eyes.

Looking good. You'll probably want a few more otos. If you get any plecos, make sure they are a type that maxes out at about 6", like a bristlenose.

Nice!

I love shrimp. They're so fun to watch.

I've always wanted CPDs but they have a rep for being skittish/shy. Let me know how they settle in please!

Danios are very skittish but they're coming around. They prefer cover but are coming out into the foreground. It helps that I have a group of 10 and they're with tetras of similar size.

Did some more searching to find out what these seeds are. Joined another site to ask questions and this is what I found...very informative but no definitive answer to what they are. There's even a video in the thread from this site showing the carpet being trimmed...

I'm still very please as to how the carpet looks but rather disappointed in how the product has misled me along with others...definitely not glossostigma.
