My shark pond addition

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
I am so glad every one is enjoying my pond ..

I will keep updating till done :D

I went to Taps for the fiberglass and resin I will have picture of my supplies on the site.

3/4 thick acrylic for the window was $125 and 1" thick was $185 .

I don’t mind $200 for the window but they did say they can go up to 2".

would the 1" do it or will the 1" still have a chance of bowing out , should I go a bit thicker

Its looking real good, interesting ideas. How well did the fiberglass bond to the old poly tub? Did you do any pretests for adhesion?

Sweet project. Can't wait til it's done. Seems like 1" acrylic should be plenty strong enough. That is what I was thinking of using for a 7' long veiwing window on a 1200 gallon tank.

I had not problem as of yet with the fiberglass, but I did sand the part of the tub that was to be fiberglassed down a layer. the company that sold me the pond epoxy said it would not have any problems sticking to the old pond shell. I need to update my site, It is up and running for a week now and i only found one leek the first day ( Bulkhead) that took about 6 hour to get under controle, at least to a slow drip and let the salt take care of the the rest, two days and no drip any more ;)......

Thats awesome!

Probably won't be able to get a good patch while it has water in it. There are some plyable cement like products, but it will twist and flex a bit over time, leading to another leak.
