This guy (see link to article below) got enough media involved to put pressure on the DEC to grant him a permit to keep his Snakehead. He purchased in 1999 before Snakeheads were banned in the United States, so there might be hope for you yet.

Yeah. Posting it on here if you weren't encrypting your IP was probably a bad move. I'd go to my local electronics store and get an IP firewall/encryption device if you wanted help or just to talk to MFK about it.

Honestly this. You bought it when it was LEGAL so I would say yours is grandfathered in. Just don't buy anymore. I would do that if any of my animals or belongings just one day became illegal.
