My tank thread.

Getting there, the Guianacara had hex when I got them, finnished the treatment and all cleared up, the biggest male has hith scares through. Not getting any fish from that lfs again. Apart from that all is well, I ll get some pics at the weekend.
Sorry to hear that mate, it's horrible when things like that happen. The black neons in my tank came in with some sort of bacterial infection, I've been trying to fight it ever since I got them. I keep thi king it's gone and then notice a patch on another one. No other fish are suffering, just the neons. Think I just got a bad batch. I too will be reluctant to buy from this seller again.

May be that slowest form of columnaris, it tends to stay within one species, picking them off one at a time. I had it do this with my Imperial tetras just recently when I bought Oto's at a LFS. I hadnt bought local fish in about 4 years- the 1 time I did (and like a rookie, added to my tank directly) it wiped out all the Otos I had in my 180 and a lot of other fish within first week.
I treated with nitrofurazone and kanamycin and 95% of all fish bounced back quickly-- except my Imperial tetras. They have been dying at about 1 every 2-3 weeks. I cant catch them to put in hospital tank to further treat them and ( there are only 2 left now) I refuse to treat whole tank when all other fish are healthy.
I learned my lesson- no more local fish- I never have problems with diseased fish with the 3 online vendors I have been buying from within last 4 years.

I think you may be on the money with that diagnosis. Having 200 of them it's hard to keep check. You think it's all cleared up and then another one shows up with the symptoms. I will have to dose the whole tank again. Catching 200 tetras in my tank will be next to impossible.
