How many post do you need to create? It's pretty stupid to say happy fish don't jump.

as a general rule? no it isn't...

and obviously three

Never heard that as a general rule. I did have the water level way to high for a tank without a top. At least that is solved now. But anyways if you feel like just being a smartass go post somewhere else.

For my tanks i cover them with egg crate it think that might be better than glass because it might make the tank get too hot.

3gal is not to small man

its just that you dont have the patients or time to put into a tank of this size

Well it is. Clown fish don't usually jump.

Who says I don't have the patients or time? I don't think you can say that about someone you don't know.

I disagree, most tanks have some sort of glass top. Temp can be regulated with the heater. By putting an egg crate on your not help preventing evaporation. When I put the glass top on the temp did raise but once I lowered the heater it has stayed constant at 78-79 degrees

Well it is. Clown fish don't usually jump.

Like I said, the water level was way too high.

ohh man i want taking to you i was talking to big gourami ( because he is bashing a small tank )

i think that's what he was getting at, it would prevent things from (at least bigger ones) from jumping while allowing evaporation (for cooling)

i think the tank is going to be much better off without the clown, unfortunate circumstances of it's removal aside

a 3 gallon? for a clownfish? seriously...?
i HAVE a 2.5 gallon tank, i know what kind of work goes into keeping one. with a clownfish in there it was doomed to fail

yup, the usually suspects tend to include things like jawfish, gobies, dartfish, tilefish, blennies, etc
usually smaller, skittish fish... not bold ones like damsels and clowns
