My Trigrinus Help

The exact reason I pointed out a few things that needed sorting out to help

The fontosa would have been fine with the tig yes fontosa do like hard water but they are a very strong fish and if you keep the PH at 7 then most fish are happy

You need a fish like the fontosa to clean up any left over food as fontosa are like trash cans they eat anything and everything

Just trying to help as it's better than just ripping into the guy and if he lived close and I was able to get to go around his house to help him I would

But I ask again you he please tell use the water parameters it's easy we all know the dip stick tests are not that great but if people are unsure on how to use test kits then the dip stick test is a easy option and it gives you some sort of results

i think its very bad result

ph is 7.0
ammonia is 1.2
nitrite is 0.8
nitrate 50

any suggestions if i can do something on ammonia, nitrite and nitrate
 
quickly grab ammo-lock to make ammonia safe for fish temporarly, and do 50%+ water changes daily until the ammonia is at 0.

well i am uk.. the time is 7.20pm most of pet shops are closed now.
i think i can do more water changes. i will use new water with tap conditioner.

i need to clean filter sponges. and suck the dirts out as well
 
Right this is the problem

Why do you keep cleaning the filters everytime you clean the filter you kill all the good bacteria

I think the main problem was by not using tap water conditioner you killed all the good bacteria in the filters so the tank is like a new tank and it needs to cycle again

Please please everyone stop telling him to go out and buy so many different water treatments from what I can make out he lives in the UK but doesn't have a great understanding of English so we need to not confuse him

The product you need to buy from the shop is called ammo lock you don't need to get anything else

If you have a product that others have told you to buy called sachem prime then I think that will do the same thing

i born in this country. i grew up with my hard of hearing (deaf student)....only bad thing is i am not good at english grammer in my all life.... ( my teacher didn't put me in english lessons which is so shame for me.) my speaking is excellent and its make sense when i speak.

yea i do understand ... i shouldn't clean these filters because its already start to cycle the water. i have done 50% water changes. for now i am going to stop water changes cos i don't want to spoil my cycle and my tigrinus.

i am going to my lfs tomorrow morning to sort out my tank problem
