My Trimac, real / fake ?

the Trimac didnt seem happy in the 20G (and i needed it under other fish :)) so i moved him back to the 200G where he is the only cichlid, tankmates are ATF, CK, BGK, Parron shark and 20 Polypterus...

a new pic of him, any idea on the sex?

Looks great! Im going to say Female but Im no Mac expert.... However I do want one.:D

Whats the temperment like on this one?

The source of the fish is the best determinant of whether its a trimac or a flowerhorn.

From where did you get it? Does the fish have provenance back to wild fish (collection location, etc.)?

If not then there is no way to tell...and I'd assume (from breeding / labeling purposes) that it's a flowerhorn.
 
I have a few trimacs. One from Jeff and the others from quality breeders. Mine look identical to yours. Nice looking Trimac IMO
 
It's a girl going by the black in the dorsal and the naughty bits showing in the last photo.

Again, call it whatever you want. It doesn't matter unless you breed it, then please do not call the fry trimacs unless you know 100% that it is a trimac. 90% chance that it's a trimac? Don't call the fry trimacs. Could help dilute and ruin the gene pool.
