My Trimac, real / fake ?

Right, there is no "fake" trimac. There's pure trimacs, then there's fh. Some of the "low grade" fh just make the id's hard because they start looking very similar to pure trimacs.

Which I'm going with pure on yours.

So may I ask what the point is? Obviously since you don't know if it is pure you can't in good conscience sell it or any fry as trimacs.

Anyways it should be a nice looking fish, and have fun with it.

I think the point was questioning if a "fake trimac" existed (excluding fh). Kind of like "false red terror", one fish that looks like another and is commonly called a false or fake of it.

I'd personally go with real Trimac, but if you plan on breeding them and selling them as Trimac's I'd say it would be unethical because you will probably never be sure.

i was just curious, i am not planning on breeding.
I have just been looking at adult pictures of Trimacs and liked what i saw, so im just hoping its a real Trimac and not a hybrid.

actually i got it from a very reputable importer, he kept it himself for a few months. He said it was a Trimaculatus.

Well if he's a reputable breeder and you trust him, just take his word that it's a Trimac.

this is what I was saying. that's normally how you tell if it's a trimac. if it's bought as a trade in at a lfs that's when you really might as well call it a FH.
