Amazing that your orangeheads were successful on the first try in such a busy tank. Mine always lose their wigglers a few days in. Usually dig a pit and drop them then they get carried away by the filter current. I'm going to put them in a tank with only a sponge filter and let them have at it.

You must keep very clean water in there to get all this great coloration, trailer growth, and breeding all with that many fish in there.

yea, i was quite surprised. Took like a couple of weeks since I added them in my tank. Not like I was even trying...lol... However, I think with the way I feed and do water changes it triggered the libido. I do 50% every 5 days then refill straight out the tap. Just make sure the temp is balanced. Then I add water conditioner.

I guess that means the Panda's gotta go Joey ?

Having a hard time getting rid of either...lol...

It's not like they are tearing up fins or lip locking just the occasional bump and chase. I'm still monitoring the aggression. Like I said, they only bother the biggest Geo..no one else. In addition, as mentioned. If I remove the big Geo the aggression may get directed elsewhere. The Geo is a big boy so he can take the aggression, at least for now. Perhaps when I move them to a bigger tank it will provide more space so the Panda's won't feel so territorial.

I don't blame you @ all, both are beautiful fish. Always wanted them but they would become food in my tanks.

Your altifrons is beautiful. How big is she? And how big is her male partner? I'm guessing she's over 6" from how nicely colored up she is, so he must be massive. I never realized how big he is.

Yea, she's about 6". The male is MASSIVE.. Seriously the biggest GEO I've seen. Really impressive to see in person. Everyone that comes over wants to make offers for it...lol

It's just really interesting to see these two pair up. They picked out a different location in my tank to do their business. Round 2....haha..

Congratz Joey I was looking for some Red Heads but thought I better chill out I have enough going on in all my tanks. But I am enjoying this thread keep us updated.

I feel really bad stripping the fry's from the parents... =-( I have them separated now and will try to raise them. If I'm successful you can have some.

Well, the Altifron and Winemilliri decided to go for round 2. Soon as the Altifron laid the eggs the Winemilliri would follow to do his thing. You can see his manhood doing it's thing...lol.... Pretty crazy. Soon as he made his pass the female would scoop the eggs into her mouth... you can see the eggs on top of the red stone.

We'll see how far it goes this time...

Also, I had thought my big guy was a Brachybranchus, but have been advised by several others that it's a Winemilliri. Either way it doesn't matter with me as in my eyes it's a big bad Geo...lol

I must be leaving my porn on all night and the fish are watching...lol.... Geo's are one freaky fish.... They also perform in front of crowds..lol.. they don't care who's in the tank watching...haha
