OK guys, update time.
Completely emptied out the tank, resealed the corners and painted the back. As you can see from the picture below. My back was tinted black which still allowed light to escape through the back and made pictures harder then nessicary. So I painted it black.
While I siliconed the seam in question I did my best to get some silicone in between the panels after sitting a few days the white line in the seam is significantly better. Although not perfect, it's probably as good as it's getting without completely separating the panels. (Which I'm not willing to try.)
Decided to give tile a shot, since I've been seeing alot more tile tanks and the gf likes the look of them. I've always been a thick substrate guy so this is new to me. If I end up not liking it I will just cover it with sand so I figured no harm no foul.I let ALL the silicone cure for 78 hours then filled her up.
After letting her run empty for a couple days. I tested the water and added my bio balls into my sump. ( This is a bag/ submerged media sump) The next day I did a large water change and threw in a couple goldfish from a friend of mines feeder stock. (Yes yes, feeders equal parasites. But he raises his own in a enclosed system and feeds his peacocks them with no problems so I didn't mind using them. ) I left them in a few days while testing the water and all systems pointed good. No leaks, no dead goldfish, no high levels. So I went ahead and aquascaping alittle and added my sponge filter into the sump and added my guys into tank. So far so good.
So hopefully this works! I'll keep a careful eye on it, everyone seems happy. Although the tank is significantly more open then it was before. Hopefully when these guys get abit bigger it won't look so empty XD but that's soon enough I'll be having to move them to a bigger tank.
I'm thinking about getting a better light and trying to grow some thick green algae on those slates. Just to throw in some green. I'm already missing my greens lol
