So i now have broadband and i promised an update...
...unfortunately i wanted to do a complete story but I can't get all the pics off my camera phone but I'm gonig to update nonetheless.
So i moved into my new place not long after the initial photos were taken and on inspection found a few problems. With the tank installed, I began moving in to discover a fairly large probelm in the bathroom. Long story short, the entire bathroom needed to be stripped meaning i had to lvie in a hotel for a couple of days. Eventually, this was fixed and i was able to settle in.
When it came to transferring the fish into the tank, I was also presented with a challenge, what with a couple of the poly boxes breaking in transit so my poor merc got a bit damp. THEN, upon arrival, i began the careful process of placing the fish into the tank only for my little gold wolf to make a break for freedom. He ended up shuffling his way across the carpet and i discovered there and then that Gold wolves are slippery little buggers.
Anyway, the fish were installed, my filtration was transferred and everything seems to be going well (as of Friday last week). Last weekend, i decided i would make my first new purchase and having promised myself I would get some Cichla Monoculus, i bought three babies from my LFS and introduced them to the baby tank. That evening, and with the Cichla settled and feeding, i fed the main tank and prepared to go to bed. One hour later, all hell broke loose.
To take a step back, the first week that i introduced the fish, my two Gold wolves had a bit of a tiff. The smaller one came off worst and his tail was shredded quicte badly. Everything calmed down and they seemed to be getting on fine.
Back to the evening of chaos, I switched the light back on to find my Curuipra had grabbed my little (10") Gold wolf. With the light on, the black immediately let him go but the poor fella wasn't looking to happy so I transferred him to the Baby tank. I've done this before and never had a problem, even with the occupants of the baby tank including Columbian Tetras, baby Hecklii and dwarf Crenicichla so i thought nothing of it with the baby Cichla.
They lasted two days. Bugger. So I've re ordered some more Cichla and am waiting for them to get a little bigger. At the same time, I should be able to finally take my new Cichlasoma cf. Ornatus that i ordered from Jeff Rapps and put them in my baby tank to grow out.
So, that's pretty much everything until today so without further ado, heres some pics;
I'm gonig to find a way to put a suitable background up but for the moment, It's gonig to be open to ut outside world, what with being in front of the livingroom window!
