My wolves

  • We are currently upgrading MFK. thanks! -neo
The lap is fine, wolf showed no aggression when I added the lap and the ornate didn't either, maybe I have a good one, I hear the ornates tend to seak out new comers for awhile but not mine so far. And only the bala sharks are what isn't permanent. It was more of an experiment, only the odoe has chased them. So seems they're more of an annoyance cause no one shows aggression except when the odoe chases. The only other fish I'm deciding on us whether or not to get a Raphael as a bottom feeder for scraps and then the Senegal bichir I was thinking of setting up either a 40 breeder or 33l which has the base print of a 55 just shorter, and throwing him and maybe an erythrinus in there. If not I'll bring him in the lfs they sell them regularly.

Got rid of pleco, started sucking on bichirs, added larger mala, didn't feel it was growing in the smaller set up. Nor is the smaller one, but I'm going to get rid of that one. Got a Raphael catfish for a scrap eater. Doing well. Curu shows aggression towards mala though. Thinking I may need to get a larger mala. If I do I'll get rid of this one but after I have it in the main tank for a few days and see no aggression from it unless self defense from defending curu. See if all settles after a couple days. I rather grow this one out though. If I don't do that I may need a peace keeper kind of fish. We'll see.

So everything's been good kind of, just a bit of an aggression issue seems to be arising as the odoe has become the largest in the tank now at 10 inches where as the wolf is a bit over 9, he thought he could take over and became aggressive towards everyone except the bichirs and Raphael catfish, so towards the two wolves, the bala, and a small jag I bought to grow and hopefully become a peace maker of some sort when grown out . The jag just runs, the mala and the odoe charge one another and bump eachother causing a loud thud and back up and go back to normal (which is kind of funny seeing as the odoe is almost twice the size with the mala only being 6 inches but alarming due to the loudness of it) leaving no bite marks, now, the curupira on the other hand has had two bite marks over the last two weeks and tail fin has become a little tattered though it's pretty healed up now, I haven't witnessed anything but the curupira puff his gills and the odoe backs off, so he must have put him in his place now cause the odoe runs from him now sometimes jumping out in the little gap I leave (for the bichirs and wolves to breathe) to get away if the wolf gets to close. It's calmed down for about 3 days now, but we'll see how things go.

Everything's going fine, added an ery. ery. Doing good, I felt bad for him at the lfs, he was constantly fighting with a pair of jack dempseys leaving them missing scales and scratched up and him with severely tattered fins. He's on the move the majority of the time or he swims in the little power head or against the flow from the output of the filter. No aggression from or towards him that I've witnessed. Was toying with the idea of doing just wolves and bichirs and getting rid of everything else but I wonder if the curupira would then target the mala and ery as they'll be the focus since he seems best friends with the bichirs. If I do this I would like to add a delhezi Bichir. Thoughts? Ery is 5 inches, mala is 6 maybe a little bigger, and curupira has gotten to be a brute, very fat, eyeballing looks to be around 10 inches now never had the ruler close when he was up against the glass straight and he doesn't stay still for to long.
Here's some pics, I've been having trouble with cloudy water all of a sudden. I did my weekly water change and it's still cloudy oddly enough.

Nice wolves. That ery maybe swimming a lot but I wonder if it's scared of your black wolf. Most ery's will chill out and stay away from power heads and such. Keep an eye out! Adding bichirs will be ok. I would add a couple of delhezi and not just one or a bunch of lower/upper jaw species. Can never get one bichir it's like a disease. Lower jaws would be good b/c of the potential size of the wolves. Keep posting, things are coming along.
