I know what you mean. In some full tank shots it looks almost like he's fake.

will comment on more later (or via PM - received your message) - but going with the black painted background should work great. simple and fast and effective for the setup. you'll notice the fishes will stand out much more in photos too. looking forward to seeing a trop and AUL join the collection too...the AUL is the only non-gar i keep in GDII and they get along great --
