I had mine in a 40G until they were about 6-7 months old. They out grew it pretty quickly. Of coarse, I have two so it's a little different story.
They are now in a 125G and pretty comfy. I'd recommend tossing him in that trough. He'll have plenty of room to grow. You could always set it up like a stream bottom so he'll feel at home. Set up the filters all blowing the same direction, nice rocky bottom, plant cover, some koi and minows to eat!
Arrowanna pellets eh? from his size, looks like he likes em
I feed em EVERYTHING. Rosey's, Krill, Silversides, Brine Shrimp, fish of the day at the grocery store. They really love beefheart and any fish they can catch in my tank. (already ate a couple plecs and african cichlids).
Anyway, here are a couple pics. Love to see more of your guy.
Your guys are so beautiful and healthy looking and BIG.. we are in the process of setting up the frontosa tank and as soon as that is done i think we will go right to the tank for the turtle..setting up the trough.. but i will have to get back to you on how you did yours because it sounds great.. do you think i could also keep a very large catfish in with him.. with out either one bothering the other? Your pictures were great and as soon as i can get more i will post again.. thanks!! oh and thanks for the list of groceries too.. he will be so happy..
